This past weekend we got to spend a night up in Boulder with our great friends Dan and Georgi. Mason absolutely loves them so it's easy to bring him along and not worry about entertaining him...or so I thought.
We got there and immediately started to explore the property they are currently living on. It's a huge piece of land so Georgi took Mason and I on the golf cart to explore. He and I were sitting in the front with her and she was having some trouble starting it. So over and over again, we watched her turn the key, switch it to forward, and give it to some gas.
Let me be clear: over and over again we watched her.
Which at the time, didn't seem very significant.
It was.
A little while later, we were distracted with some adult conversation and didn't think too much about Mason not standing right next to me.
Until we heard the crash.
Somehow, unbeknownst to us, Georgi had given him a tutorial.
And he now knows how to drive a golf cart.
Kind of.
Fortunately, it was aimed at some metal lawn furniture which broke the path between him and the sliding glass door.
The furniture was fine.
I should mention, so was Mason. When we discovered him, he had the most awestruck look on face seemingly saying "Wow, that was awesome".
Notice, no concern about the trouble he could have been in.
So, lesson learned? For me.
He absorbs everything.
Oh, and always take the key out of the ignition.

ok...i used to think that those child harness/leash-thingys were awful. until we went to disneyland with will. (we didn't have one but i wish we did!) i'm thinking you could use one, too?!
I'm a little worried at what Thanksgiving is going to be like with all these crazy boys in the same room...come to think of it...two generations of crazy boys!! Yikes!!

This cracks me up...sorry it probably gave you a heart attack! We have a family friend whose son is the same way! We have to be very careful with were the car keys are. He's Mason and Pax's age too!
